I haven't used Clarion products before, but for the price I would give them a try. I have limited space and these subs are working great (better than expected). In a sealed enclosure at 0.4 cf per sub and a mounting depth of less than 3", these sound great. Listening to a range of dubstep to metal, these subs have been meeting the demand for the variety of low freq's without issue. It's only been a month, but no regrets at this time. Hope this helps.
