Spyder Auto ALT-TS-CCAM93-LED-SM Chevy Camaro Smoke LED Tail Light Review

I was really excited when I got my lights in the mail. The order was pushed back, so I've been waiting awhile. It was ok though, I planned on it. I was surprised there was no instructions and had to decide how to wire the LED's. The mounting studs didn't line up with the holes very well, so I had to bend and stretch them to make them fit. I was also disappointed in the holes for the socket bulbs. It doesn't hold the bulbs in or lock very well at all. But they do look really good and I love the LED effect. I hope these last longer than my 3rd brake light, I have two LED's going out in just over 3 months already.

Update: Just went to get my safety check here in Hawaii. I didn't pass because my tail lights didn't have a DOT stamp in them, bummer. Also about half of the LED's are out now anyways as well. Had to put my original lenses back in.

I've had this product in my Escalade for almost a year now and installation was straight forward and easy but I'm very experienced with mobile audio and very handy in general. Sound quality is good, it's a little slow to update/refresh sometimes, still haven't figured out the rhyme or reason to when it wants to do that. Navigating and selecting music is frustrating to say the least. Maybe it's great for people who aren't used to an aftermarket head unit with built in controls but my other car has a Avic z120BT in it and it's worlds better. I really like the look of the OEM head unit in the Escalade and i have the rear seat entertainment package but this has me seriously looking at aftermarket options.

If you don't mind searching for an artist to play by hitting browse then trying to guess where in the list the first letter of the artist's name is in chunks of 20 then having to search one by one with a half to full second pause between each update, go for it. If you want something smooth and intuitive, probably have to go with aftermarket. My work around is just to have a playlist and only use that. Any other way and you'll end up crashing your car if you try to change while driving.
