06-08 Audi A3 Front Mesh RS-Style Grille Grill Review

This grill is a little less sturdy than the stock grill. It is made out of ABS plastic, so if you have any experience with ABS you will know what I mean. While the stock grill attaches with clips, there are also mounting holes on the fender for bolting on grills, which is what you have to do in the case of this new grill as it does not have clips molded into it like the stock grill did. I bought #10 1 1/2" zinc coated sheet metal screws to mount the grill to the fender using the pre molded screw holes on the new grill. Be aware that you may be better off with 1" screws. I sunk two of them to far through and they just came out the other side on the visible side of the grill, so I now have two ugly quarter inch holes on each side of the outside band of the grill. It would have been nice to have some simple instructions that at least told me what size screws to buy. The kit comes with a mounting bracket that screws on in case you want to mount standard audi rings later on.

After ruining the grill during installation, I recommend #10 1" zinc coated sheet metal screws. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION to how far you have gone in, especially along the bottom and sides of the grill.

I would buy this product again, the product itself has no defects and could be easily painted.
