Ok, so... I ride a 2004 GSXR-600 and was sick of trying to shift up into sixth gear on the highway from sixth gear.(it's not that hard to count I know) So when my search in Amazon for gear indicators came back with a bunch of $160 ones for various bikes and one $80 one that's for exactly my type of bike imagine my delight. Couple of things about this indicator...

+ Very visible display, personally I prefer the red display to the blue ones.
+/- It is designed to be compatible with pretty much any bike that has digital Tach. and Speedometers.
+/- Since it is designed to work with many kinds of bikes it comes with wiring tables for quite a few common bikes...
- The wiring tables were printed in 2003.
+/- "easy to install" My normal interpretation of "easy" generally does not involve a soldering iron and my bike's shop manual electrical prints.
- "easy to program" Within a relatively short period of time you have to put the bike in each gear with the clutch out and hold 2000 Rpm for about 10 sec.

All that said, it's only a 5 wire install and with a good rear stand the programming's not that hard (maybe a little bit scary but not hard). Not sure why they have this one listed as a "1997-2009 SUZUKI GSXR600" specific part when it should work for a LOT of other bikes.
