Telescope Casual Original Mini-Sun Chaise Folding Beach Arm Chair with Cup Holders, White Review

I remember this almost identical high back style chair back in the 80's (lasted into the 90's) when I used to be a SoCal beach rat. In fact, the only thing different are the 2 cup holders. The first chair came with a big gash in the box. And yes, a small dent in the tubular frame. Once you get a dent in tubular frame it compromises the strength at that point which can create a buckling affect if the dent is severe enough. You'll find yourself toppling over as your chair frame bends like a broken arm. Also one of the rivets that hold the seat fabric to the tubular frame wasn't seated properly just waiting to either fall out creating a chain reaction of the seat slowly tearing away from the frame each time I sat in it or a cut finger each time I grabbed the chair near the rivet. Either case I returned it. When you pay a high price relative to the product you should expect a non-defective product. The 2nd came unharmed. I first noticed the chair wasn't as heavy as I remembered most likely because of the quality of aluminum. Not sure if that has to do with the gauge size of the metal. The high back wasn't quite high enough for my liking. I'm 5'8" and the lower back of my head just hit the top of the back seat fabric. Any taller and your head might be resting on the aluminum support bracket at the top causing you to have to slouch down if you wanted to recline. All in all not a bad chair. You really can't beat the cup holders. I use both, 1 for a cup holder cigar ashtray insert and the other for a cold, tall one of something which was the selling point for me. I actually bought 2. Navy for me. The color is great. Not too blue and not too dark. And one for my wife in the lime green. I would buy again.
