From what I've read, these units fail due to overheating and cause problems with charging.

My 2000 SV 650 was suffering from dead batteries and didn't seem to be charging. Knowing this may be the problem but wanting to be sure it wasn't just an old battery, I only replaced the battery. After replacing the battery once and having it end up ruined, the next step was replacing this.

This was a straight forward installation. The plugs fit into their factory counterparts and aside from the increased size for better cooling, it fit just like stock.

So far I haven't had any dead battery problems and the bike starts and runs strong with bright lights.

Cheaper than at a dealer and better than OEM.
